path pusher
I am young. Most people who meet me nowadays think I am more younger as I have changed my appearance to that of a wide-eyed fascinated kind of girl: long hair, colorful casual clothing, funky pieces of jewelry.
People whom I shared my decision with questioned my logic before I left, but I felt it only strengthen my will to determine my own fate. My decision seems natural to me--I have been working as a teacher, I am and always have considered some sort of humanitarian career for myself in the future and finally, I believe that what I give, I do get back--but I recognize that things never come back the way that you give them. This philosophy has given me so much peace and happiness in my life and I hope that I should never forget it. I am capable of giving so much back to my world and often do where ever I can, but I have never made it my "life" and still believe I have a long, long way to go. But I have a goal. I have a vision. I have the will and I am taking action. Now.
My friends gave me a card before I left for my move, one I still carry around with me to this day. "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step," it read. Cliche as it is, those words of wisdom still permeate my life today as I make my daily decisions, as I interact with the world and as I decide, on a bigger scale, what to do with this short time life has given me. I live with few boundaries, but the boundaries I do set for myself I follow very carefully. I have evolved as a person. I am more an individual than I have ever been and will continue to search for new inspiration on the road and in the people around me.
And now, it's time to continue pushing my path in a new directions I had never dreamed of. Surrounded by death and disaster, I am reinforced in my will to live my life as far as my soul and body will carry me.
